Eph 4:7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift.
This simple verse contains such a complexity of abundance and promise, that is scarcely seems so few words should be able to express such beauty...
Just the very fact that 'to each one of us grace was given', is in and of itself mind-blowing. Something we were all lacking and without, was given. Not earned, loaned, leased or rewarded, but GIVEN!!! Freely and without requirement!!! This is incredible and is so heart-warming to think that the God and Savior of the Universe had time to give us EACH a gift of grace...
But it doesn't stop there, only begins. This beautiful gift of grace was given "according to the measure of Christ's gift." WOW!!! Not by human measure, or measure of what we deserve or don't deserve, but to the measure of Christ's gift!!! How amazing that God's grace is given to us by the measure of the very gift of Christ Himself...
We have grace dwelling within us that allowed Jesus himself, hanging on a Cross for a rebellious and unrepentant people, to look to the Heavens and cry out for our forgiveness...
Amazing. Don't ever forget that God's grace is abundant in our lives, available for the mere asking. Thank You, Precious Lord and Savior, for Your grace. Help me remember that no gift from You is given vainly or for no reason, but for prospering us as Your bondservants...
