Well, figured with this being an Introductions Thread and me being the Admin and all, I should probably take this opportunity to introduce myself... Jerod Rickert Age 34 Recieved the Lord in 1987, but have only been truly living for my Savior since late 04, early 05... I'm not completely sure where this is to go, I just felt as thought the Lord has encouraged me to set something like this up and I want to be obedient. I hope all of you will enjoy this place, feel free to utilize the chat and to invite friends and others who may benefit from this... Introductions are always hard...and confusing...
You could call me a non-traditional Christian. Why do I use that term? Probably due to my distaste for organized religion. Too many times have I found church services to be filled with..."Look who's setting in my seat"...and..."Guess who is seeing who". I get particularly upset around the commercializing of religion.
Now, despite that, I am a CEO of a Christian based health care organization. This is a direction that me and a couple of others steered the organization in about 10 years ago. We believe in caring for the 'least of these'...living as Christ would...being fair and gentle in our dealings...and generally being an engine to help our communities "Begin life with hope, live life with joy and end life with dignity".
I am here first because of my belief in jerod...but second to hear others voices (muses) and where they lead so that I may find my own path.

Testimony: I came to know the Lord when I was 5 years old. I went forward at a Church Christmas service. I re-dedicated my life (This is when I think I REALLY understood what I was doing) when I was 11.
God has brought me through a tremendous growth process, and today, my goal in life is to know Him, and make Him known...
My Wife and I are preparing to move to Arkansas, as we are going into full-time missions with Campus Crusade for Christ.
We will be working with their subsidiary, FamilyLife.

Hi.
I just joined this, so I thought I should post an introduction.
I'm 19 years old, I'm going to college in Arkansas, and majoring in English. I was saved when I was seven years old, and I was amazingly blessed to grow up in a devout Christian home.
I had a wreck in October of last year... that was the first wreck I've ever been in, and it was the first time I thought I was going to die. And I realized that I would be so utterly ashamed to look in my Saviour's eyes if I went to meet Him that day ... I had been living my life for myself only... skipping church, not reading my Bible, not praying.
But God spared my life... I know that there must be a reason for that.
So, I guess you could say my eyes were reopened that day, and since then, I've been trying, with God's gracious help, to get my life straightened out, figure out what He wants me here for, and hop to it!
I think Jerod's site could be part of that, and at the very least, it's blessed me already, so here I am.

It's great to have a new member (not to mention a few others very recently). We all hope to be as much a blessing as possible in conforming your life to Christ (as well as everyone else). If you have any questions or anything to say feel completely unhindered in manifesting your thoughts on this board. Don't be afraid in the least to voice your opinions (even opposing ones) or scriptural views in a respectful manner, because this board is all about earnestly contenting for the things of God...
Jud 1:3 "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints."
and similarly...
1Th 5:21 "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."
Given all of this I look forward to some awesome discussion.

I'm not a very religious person but I thought I'd join this site and see what it's about. I already know jerod and a few other members from a different message board. I'm a case manager and help mentally Ill people with everything from paying their bills to dealing with their personal demons. People assume because I'm in a position like that dealing with my own problems must be easy but its not. I went through the most painful period of my life the last few years with a divorce and custody battle (ongoing) and I think its helps to discuss things and help sort out your emotions and feelings. I'm hoping people here can help me out with that. Thanks

And I know that we will be praying the blessing of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be abundant in your life... And as far as not being very religious?? I think you will be pleasantly surprised to discover that most of us here have a rather strong aversion to religion ourselves... |

Nice to see another member join. Sorry that you don't see too much activity on this site as of late. The usual posters (Jerod and I) have been pretty caught up in some things lately. We phase in and out of posting activity (or at least I do).
