Ok, without going into too much detail on my beliefs on tithing (I plan to cover that, soon ), let me just say that God is awesome and His Word stands true (no surprise there, LOL). My wife and I have been recently trying to find our point of agreement on tithing, and she has recently agreed to be more faithful to our tithe. Since we have started being better stewards of our finances, God has begun to open the floodgates of blessing. In addition to our better than average tax return, in just the past 3 days, God has truly been pouring out financial harvest upon us. There are so many examples (her sons SSI coming through WAY faster than it should have, unexpected rebates and bonuses, child support coming through, the list goes on). But I just wanted to focus on the last 3 days. It began with a phonecall from my father. He has paid my rent for both this and next month for my Birthday!!! I then got a bonus safety check at work. Followed the 3rd day by yet ANOTHER child support check from the state in the way of almost $1000!!! Do not EVER underestimate the power of God's word and promises. When He said if we would be faithful to our tithe He would bless us... He wasn't kidding!!!! God Bless and remember it's His money anyways, give some back and see what happens!!!

Not to say that Jerod's wrong or even that he's not aware of what I'm about to mention, but I think it's important to note that God doesn't always reward tithing with actual money. Just pointing it out to those of us who are unaware (sorry Jerod, not trying to undermine you or belittle Gods awesome gift upon you).
Aside from that I praise God for his goodness. I read this and smiled cause time and time again God is proven faithful and gracious...
God's good!

I just saw this but, better late then never... It was once said that the wallet is the "last frontier." It is the final area to be conquered—the last thing that comes to God in surrender. Jesus spoke much about money. He said that we cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24). The word “mammon” was the common Aramaic word for riches, which is akin to a Hebrew word signifying "that which is to be trusted." In other words, we cannot trust God and money. Either money is our source of life, our great love, our joy, our sense of security, the supplier of our needs—or God is.
When you open your purse or wallet, give generously and regularly to your local church. A guide as to how much you should give can be found in the "tithe" of the Old Testament—10% of your income. Whether you give this amount or not, make sure you do give something to the work of God (see Malachi 3:8-10). Give because you want to, not because you have to. God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7), so learn to hold your money with a loose hand.
