I thought I'd try and explain what brought me here. Its going to take several posts to cover everything so please bear with me.
I was married for seven years and things were good for the most part. No major complaints besides my wife being a control freak. I found my own way to deal with that problem which was probably a big mistake I should have tried to resolve it instead. We tried for years to have children and had no luck. Then one day after we had given up it happened. Again everything was good and nine months later my daughter was born.
A few weeks after my daughter arrived in the world I started to notice a change in ex wife. She seemed very on edge and didn't seem to want me around. I passed it off as post partum depression and let it go figuring she'd get over it. Things didn't get any better they just continued to get worse and she became even more controlling. This time she wasn't trying to control me but everything that had to do with our daughter. She would not allow me to do the most basic things concerning my daughter's care. I wasn't allowed to even change her diapers , rock her to sleep, eat with them in a restaurant, or even walk out of my ex wife's sight with my daughter. Her explanation was that my daughter's care was her job not mine. I even remember coming home from work at night and being locked out of the bedroom. The explanation for this was I might make too much noise and wake the baby so she decided to just prevent me from coming in at all.
Things really came to a head when she started restricting my parent's visits to once a week on saturdays and soon after almost not at all.It got to the point that the only way my parents could see their own granddaughter was to call my ex wife directly and set up a time which was always when I was at work. My parents told how my ex wife and her mother ( didn't restrict her own family) were always trying to make them as uncomfortable as possible. For the record my parents never did a thing wrong to her during our marriage and always went the extra mile trying to be nice to her but she just never warmed up to them. This was the last straw treating me like dirt was one thing but treating my family like that and trying to control every part of my daughter's life got to be too much.
I tried resolving the problem but I was getting no where fast. She told me that things were never going to change and I didn't like it too bad I could leave. A few weeks later we agreed to stay live apart for a while until things cooled down and we could work out our differences. This trial seperation wasn't even 24 hours old when he told me that she liked things better this way and didn't think she wanted me coming back. She also claimed that she had been to an attorney several weeks before and according to the attorney because I left the house that meant I gave up any and all rights to my property , my home , and my own child. I knew this was a bunch of bull but I decided that it was in my own best interest to speak to an attorney on my own. I saw an attorny who confirmed everything she said was not true. He advised me to file for a divorce ASAP. I told him I'd give it some more time to think things over and try to work things out before I went that route.
The next time I saw my ex wife she wanted me to sign this hand written agreement stating all sorts of crazy things like I would never seek any sort of custody of my daughter and I would never try to get my share of the house. In exchange for signing this she would allow me to visit my daughter once a week. I refused of course but kept my cool. I told her I had seen my own lawyer and I wasn't agreeing or signing anything without consulting him first. At this point she blew her stack. She acted I like I was a villian for seeing my own lawyer. When I pointed out that I only did it to protect myself and she had been the one to see a lawyer first she told me she never saw one and made everything up. What she tried to do was blackmail me and as it turns out it was only the first time of many during this whole ordeal.
After this night things began to happen fast she changed the locks on the house, closed out our savings account and kept the money ( close to thirty grand) and later claimed she had given me half of it. I went back in to see my lawyer a week or so later and started the paperwork for the divorce/custody.
I'm going to stop here for tonight because I really need to get up some strength before I get into the bad parts if this. I'll post some more in a day or so
